Village Facebook pages launched

Kevin Snow15th March 2011

Morris dancing, farmers' markets, roller-blade discos, roadworks, consultations, blood donation sessions and church fetes are among the panoply of events and activities which are now being posted on our village Facebook pages.

With nearly half the population actively using Facebook, the Council is aiming to keep residents informed while reducing the cost of its communications in the face of reduced Government funding.

The Council is now providing weekly updates on its Facebook pages for:

Abbots Langley

Croxley Green

Mill End & Maple Cross

You are welcome to sign up to one or more of the pages and we are inviting reputable community groups to contact us if they wish to obtain publishing rights to a particular village page.

The move follows the launch in February of our Service News email alerts for severe weather and other possible disruptions to services which you can sign up to here.
Our e-newsletters are also available for Environment News, Planning News and Have Your Say. South Oxhey residents can sign up for an e-newsletter covering local events and the current South Oxhey initiative consultation process.  Go to our e-newsletter menu here...

Our e-news services currently have approximately 1,000 subscriptions.

You can also receive updates from us via Twitter

What's On information is also posted on the District Council's 40 noticeboards across the district.
