This summer, the paths of Oxhey Woods and Leavesden Country Park will be transformed into an interactive adventure with two themed QR code trails.
In collaboration with High Street Safari, Three Rivers District Council is introducing two new adventures for families throughout the summer holidays. Taking place between 29 July – 31 August there is plenty of time for families to enjoy the exciting trails.
At Oxhey Woods, join Elmer’s Hide and Seek Adventure Trail - designed for Elmer fans, young children and families looking for an easy, colourful and active day out. At each stop, families will find trail signage featuring a QR code. By scanning the code with a modern smartphone, players can discover which of Elmer’s friends is hiding there. Find all seven of Elmer’s friends, follow the route, and complete the trail to discover the big surprise Elmer’s friends have been planning for him at the end.
At Leavesden Country Park, join the Summer of Football: Champion’s Quest Trail - designed for all ages to enjoy, and not just football fans! Players will find trail signage containing a clue about the football-themed AR experience waiting for them. By scanning QR codes with a modern smartphone, families can unlock a different digital surprise at every location, from mini games, selfie moments, hidden symbols, and family-friendly challenges.
The trails are free of charge and take approximately 30 minutes to complete. At the end of the trail, you can unlock a free digital surprise!
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “I am delighted that the interactive trails are returning this summer. They are a great way for families to get out into the fresh air and enjoy some free fun in two of our great parks and open spaces.
“Walking in the outdoors is great for your physical and mental health, and I hope that these trails encourage families to enjoy the outdoors together over the summer holidays”.
