The government has announced that it is reviewing its Local Government Roegorganisation (LGR) process.

The review and pause has been announced "to ensure the process is robust and aligns with the new government’s plans to rewire the state."

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Leader, Three Rivers District Council said:

“It is shocking that the government has waited until now to announce this pause of the LGR process. Collectively in Hertfordshire councils have already spent thousands of hours of officers’ time and millions of pounds of council taxpayers’ money on this. What we need now is a swift decision from the government to bring clarity on this process.”
