Taste the history of gin for a good cause

Support a great cause in high spirits as the council’s Chair hosts gin fundraisers for his chosen charity.
Cllr Keith Martin, Chair of Three Rivers District Council, will present the history of gin for adults only at Oxhey Hall Community Centre in Raglan Gardens on Saturday 5 September from 7:30pm – 9:30pm – with the bar staying open until 11pm. Another event is scheduled at the Chorleywood Memorial Hall in Common Road, Chorleywood, on Saturday 26 September from 7pm.
After the talk, attendees will have a taste of four carefully selected gins. Tickets cost £20 per person and all funds raised will go to Cllr Martin’s chosen charity; The UK Sepsis Trust, a charity dedicated to ending preventable deaths and improving outcomes for people affected by sepsis while raising awareness of the serious condition.
Cllr Martin said: “Sepsis is one of the biggest killers in the UK. Sadly, my elderly mother and my wife’s young colleague passed away from this condition, so when I became Chair earlier this year, I wanted to host various events to raise as much money and awareness as possible.
“I am thrilled to be hosting my History of Mother’s Ruin Talk & Tasting event, a night that promises to learn the fascinating history of gin while trying some lovely samples and raising money for my chosen charity. I hope to see as many people as possible there and raise a glass, or two, for The UK Sepsis Trust.”
You must be over 18 years or over to attend the event. Food will not be provided and there is free on-site parking, but it is encouraged to have a designated driver or book a taxi after the event.
