It’s time to skate, scoot and ride as popular free skate event returns

Organised by Three Rivers District Council, with support from ABC Skateboarding, the Sk8 Jam will take place at Croxley Green Skate Park, Baldwins Lane between 12noon – 5pm on Sunday 30 August.

The annual event includes scooter, skate and BMX competitions in a variety of categories and age groups – these friendly competitions are the perfect opportunity to showcase your tricks, talent and skill! The competitions are free to enter and will be judged by ABC Skateboarding. All under 18s who compete must wear a helmet.

You don’t have to know how to skate, scoot or ride to enjoy this event. Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere by watching the competitions, listening to the live DJ and enjoying the free inflatable fun. There is also the chance to try something new with free skate lessons being provided by ABC Skateboarding between 11am-12noon.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, the council's Lead Member for Leisure, said: “It is fantastic to see this event return to Three Rivers. It is a popular local event that has been running for over a decade.

“I would like to thank all those involved in helping make sure the day is a success – not only our officers and ABC Skateboarding, but also Croxley Green Parish Council for sponsoring the event and the Corner Plaice for providing meal deals.

“We have seen some very talented young skaters in previous years – the competitions are an impressive sight - and I would highly recommend coming along to watch, which I will be doing”.
