Three Rivers celebrates Apprenticeship Week 2020
06th February 2020
It is National Apprenticeship Week 2020, 3 - 9 February 2020. This year, the theme ‘Look Beyond’ celebrates the diversity in apprenticeships today. Bringing the whole apprenticeship community together, the Week celebrates the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy.
Jo Wagstaffe, Chief Executive, said: “Three Rivers District Council takes pride in its apprentices who we watch grow not only into their roles and responsibilities but also within the wider business. We have a total of six apprentices on board working across different functions within Three Rivers. They are an excellent asset contributing and playing an integral part of our success.”
Here is what a few of our apprentices had to say:
“I really wanted to work within Legal Services and felt that on the job training through an apprenticeship was the best option for me. The best part is learning about so many new things, working with professionals, growing my confidence and using my skills. I am now planning my long-term career within this sector that I have grown to love.” Hannah Humphrey
“I am getting educated and earning money which is exactly what I was aiming for. I have had diverse opportunities to experience work outside of my role in finance. From working on the Business Forum, Elections to helping with litter picks! I have mixed with people from different cultures, ranks and age groups. I thoroughly enjoy gaining an array of new skills and applying them at work.” Mark Nicholas
“It is vital for apprentices to be exposed to different environments. I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to attend college as a mature apprentice and student! I am learning so much, mixing with a wide range of people from different walks of life and this has helped me immensely in my core role.” Lara Crisp
