New parking schemes to be investigated by Three Rivers District Council

Councillors at the General Public Services and Community Committee, which took place on Tuesday 8 September, have approved the latest Parking Management Programme 2025-2027, which includes four additional schemes. This is in addition to a current programme of eight schemes.

As a result, the schemes within the programme will now be investigated by council officers, with residents and stakeholders being consulted for their views and ideas before final proposals are developed.

The additional schemes are:

Bedmond Area Review

This review is expected to consider parking issues across the village of Bedmond. The council has received several requests for parking restrictions, as well as a petition from residents.

Kindersley Way, Abbots Langley

This review is expected to examine parking issues on Kindersley Way, including its junctions, and Manor House Gardens. The council has received requests for restrictions and two resident petitions relating to parking concerns in the area.

Chorleywood Bottom Review

A review of parking arrangements on Chorleywood Bottom will take place following the implementation of the Chorleywood parking scheme in 2026. The review is expected to begin approximately six months after the scheme comes into operation to allow sufficient time for the new arrangements to become established.

District-wide minor Parking Restrictions

A new district-wide programme will explore the introduction of double yellow lines and other parking restrictions at smaller locations across Three Rivers. The areas currently under consideration are:

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “We are committed to promoting safe parking while meeting local demand. That is why in our recent budget we injected further funds into our parking team to support and fast-track parking schemes. We will continue to listen to residents’ parking concerns, and I would encourage everyone who has an interest in the schemes listed in our programmed works to keep an eye out on their respective consultations as and when they are published.”
