Chairman Eric Bishop putting for charities

Revelling in the history of Moor Park Mansion and enjoying a spot of tea and putting, Three Rivers District Council Chairman, Eric Bishop, held various fundraising activities on the 11 September 2015, to raise money for his chosen charities Homestart Watford & Three Rivers and the West Herts Parkinson’s branch.

21218691098-8f6c382518-o.jpgCouncillor Bishop’s charity event included a tour of the Grade 1 listed Palladian mansion, with attendees learning about stunning interior work by Venetian craftsmen and heritage of the site. Those who attended were also be able to enjoy some of the excellent facilities at the golf club, by contesting against each other in a putting tournament. A cream tea and prize presentation was also on the long list of activities.

Whilst testing his golfing skills and learning the history of the mansion, the Chairman most importantly did fundraising for his two chosen charities, including Homestart Watford & Three Rivers Branch, a family free support service providing friendly parent-to-parent help to enable families to get back on track and West Herts Parkinson’s, who provide support to people affected by Parkinson’s in the Three Rivers & Watford area.

The Chairman also supports The Box Cleva group in South Oxhey, the organisations operates sporting and educational youth initiatives, centring on amateur boxing to provide discipline and help for young people.
