16th April 2018
On Wednesday 11 April Three Rivers District Council secured three convictions for offenders failing to supply waste transfer documents proving they had a proper waste collection in place, contrary to section 34 Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Luke Dolan, of Luke's Barber Shop, Prestwick Road, South Oxhey, was convicted in his absence and ordered to pay £1750. This was the second time he has been convicted of the same matter.
Abbas Vanat of Shamma Dry Cleaners, in Croxley Green, was convicted in his absence and ordered to pay £1420.
Luke Shayler of Shayler Barbers, in Chorleywood, was also convicted in his absence and ordered to pay a total of £1200.
Dr Steven Halls, chief executive said: “Three Rivers will continue to clamp down on people who do not dispose of their waste responsibly. I would like to remind all business in the district to ensure they have proper waste disposal arrangements in place. We do have a waste and recycling collection service that is happy to provide quotes on request.”
