Three Rivers District Council backed the Great British Spring Clean run by Keep Britain Tidy by having four litter picks on Saturday, 14 March 2020, in Bedmond Village, Leavesden Country Park, the Aquadrome and Victoria close in Rickmansworth.

Bedmond Village Task Force, a group of people who volunteer at Leavesden Country Park called The Friends, Herts Litter Pickers, Three Rivers Green Party and other residents came out to take part in these litter picks despite the cold weather, rain and pandemic.

Cllr Phil Williams, said: “The response has shown that there are many residents who love living in our district and want to make a difference to make the district cleaner for themselves, their families, their communities and visitors too. Without councils across the country giving the campaign their backing, our volunteers would not be able to do the incredible job they do.”

Cllr Joy Mann, added: “The Bedmond Village Task Force were delighted to be a part of this campaign. Enthusiastic helpers picked litter on their way to the Tin Church and then throughout the village. Many thanks to all who took part”

Cllr Roger Seabourne concluded: “It is awful how some pet-owning residents or visitors to this beautiful area can be so irresponsible. We are proud of our beautiful scenic district and are determined to support local groups and taxpayers in maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for everyone.”
