About Three Rivers District Council:

Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The area has a diverse range of sectors and businesses and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster along with Elstree and Pinewood is a short drive away.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Economic Development Officer to act as Project Manager and first point of contact for local businesses. You will work at a corporate level to bring together teams to develop and deliver projects that strengthen our local economy and support our diverse communities to build pride in place and increase life chances across the District. The role is for 6 months, with the expectation to extend once the UK Shared Prosperity Plan is agreed in October.

About you:

Working across the council’s economic growth and community services, this is a prominent role within the organisation where you will lead in setting up and maintaining business growth and support programmes.

You will enjoy working with and supporting a corporate wide team of dedicated and enthusiastic officers, who will in turn support you as the projects quickly evolve to meet the needs of key stakeholder, including elected members, members of the Three Rivers business community.

You will have good knowledge, expertise, and experience of economic development activity.

You will be proactive and adept in working across multiple teams within the organisation to ensure a collaborative approach and amplify the importance of the Three Rivers local economy.

You will enjoy building, maintaining, and developing the trust of delivery partners (public and private sector) and working with other key stakeholders at district level and beyond.

You will be comfortable in mediating difficult conversations that may occur between stakeholders with competing interests.

It is essential to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to update elected Members, senior officers, public and private sector partners.

What we offer:

£33,486-£36,371, per annum (pro rata)
