Details: Full time, 37 hours

Salary: £37,750 - £41,634

The Role
As a Revenues and Benefits Lead Systems Officer, you will provide an accurate, effective and efficient benefit subsidy and financial reconciliation function, ensuring there is no loss of benefit subsidy to the local authority. In this vital role, you will also be responsible for the completion of the council’s subsidy claims back to Government, by ensuring they are accurate, and ensuring that maximum subsidy is claimed and submit the claim to the DWP by the statutory deadlines to ensure that there is no loss of subsidy to the local authority.
In this role you will also you will also act as the main point of contact with the IT service and provide an effective and efficient service dealing with systems administration, system upgrades and software testing for all systems used in the Revenues and Benefits Service.

About you
This is a public facing role so you will need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Our ideal candidate must have demonstrable knowledge of Council Tax, Housing Benefit & Council Tax Reduction, welfare benefits legislation and procedures, and the principles of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
The successful candidate must be qualified to IRRV Technician or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, mathematical, English and IT skills are required for this role, as you will need to have the ability to be able to “problem solve” and to identify and implement effective solutions and liaise with others within the service and with external partners including the DWP and to understand and review procedures and regulations and to develop and work in accordance with office procedure manuals.
