Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when stakeholders and other interested parties will be consulted and involved in the preparation of the Local Plan, as well as in Development Management.
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out the following:
- The Council's intended approach to involving partners, interested parties and the community (including 'hard to reach' groups) in the production of the Local Plan and major development management decisions.
- The proposed arrangements for participation and consultation.
Adoption
The adopted SCI has been reviewed in light of COVID-19, to ensure that plan-making and public consultation can continue in an effective way. The addendum was adopted in January 2021 and sets out temporary changes to the publicity of planning policy documents and planning applications in line with changes to legislation and national guidance due to COVID-19. The need for the temporary measures set out in the addendum will be kept under review. The updated addendum should be read alongside the original SCI which was adopted on 15 June 2020.
