Salary: £23,761 – £25,296 per annum (inclusive of local weighting)

Three Rivers District is a high achieving organisation in South West Hertfordshire. The District straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The area has a diverse range of sectors and businesses and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster along with Elstree and Pinewood is a short drive away.
A Representations and Monitoring Officer is required to fill a vacancy in the Parking Service. You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of Council Parking Services and the provision of public information relating to controlled parking zones, parking permits, car parks, Penalty Charge Notices and all other associated services. You will be the sole employee of Three Rivers District Council in the Parking Service and as such will have responsibility for providing information, monitoring and feedback to Three Rivers District Council.
We are seeking an experienced customer services professional accustomed and comfortable working in a challenging front line capacity with members of the public. The role demands dealing personally with representations and challenges from motorists who are unhappy and wish to contest and challenge their parking penalties.
The post holder needs to be resilient, an effective communicator who is able to maintain calm in a pressurised environment. Exceptional administration and organisation skills, intermediate IT skills, ability to work accurately with careful attention to detail is an integral feature of the role.
An excellent standard of written English and a high standard of numeracy is essential. Current knowledge of parking legislation, standards and policies is advantageous, and the ability to learn these essential. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and effective team member willing to be flexible as required.
The postholder will be a member of a team which also provides a similar service for the Watford Borough Council and the role would be located with this team at the Parking Shop in Watford Town Centre. The postholder will be required to undertake independent site visits and therefore they must possess a driving license with access to personal transport.
