Chorleywood Area 1 - Consultation on proposed initial design plans
We have published proposed initial design plans in the following roads in the Chorleywood area, following the previous consultation which indicated support in some streets for new or improved parking controls. The streets included in these proposed initial plans are:
- Bullsland Gardens
- Bullsland Lane (part of)
- Greenbury Close
- Grovewood Close
- Haddon Road
- Shire Lane (part of)
We are seeking your views through the survey above and your response is important because it will help us to produce a better scheme, to make parking safer, easier and more convenient.
More information on the Chorleywood area-wide consultation and updates on the different consultation areas can be viewed here: 21-1 Chorleywood area-wide parking review
The proposal is intended to improve parking in the area by prioritising on-street parking for local people, restricting parking to vehicles displaying a permit. This would promote easier, safer parking for residents, shoppers and visitors.
It is intended to improve the local environment for everyone, including for people who do not drive but who are affected by parking, for example where it obstructs footways or blocks sightlines making it harder to cross the road.

What happens next?
Consultation will end on the 9 January 2023 and responses will be analysed and reported to local ward Councillors before any decision is made.
The District Council’s policy is to progress proposals only where there is local support for them, unless there are exceptional reasons. This survey will help to provide evidence for this.
