Gang Crime and Exploitation support

If you have experienced or are experiencing gang crime or exploitation, concerned about someone else, or concerned about the impact of current behaviour children you know the services listed on this page are able to offer support for various needs.

Support for Children and Young People

  • DSPL9 brings parents, education staff and local authority officers together to meet the needs of young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). 
  • Herts Young Homeless Focusses on preventing homelessness and empowering young people. They supports 16-24 year olds to identify their housing options, support in education and family mediation. 
  • Services for young people deliver youth work projects and programmes in addition to providing young people with one to one advice, guidance, education and work related learning.  
  • Better Choices offers support to young people aged 12 – 17 who needs individually tailored support on emotional wellbeing, building resilience, understanding risk and how to keep themselves safe. 
  • Childline is a private and confidential service for young people under 19 to speak to a counsellor about anything at any time, either on the phone, through email or online chat. For support call on 0800 1111
  • Change Grow Live (CGL) is a holistic service for children, young people, families and adults to address problems relating to drug and alcohol use. CGL supports people to make and sustain the changes to reduce drug and/ or alcohol use safely. 
  • Families First is a hub that provide information on services for children and families available in the local area. 
  • NSPCC  Provide advice about how to spot the signs of criminal exploitation and involvement in gangs and what support is available for children and young people.

Services for Adults

  • Herts Mind Network provide a range of support for adults with mental ill health, from peer support to courses. 
  • Three Rivers Community Support Service (CSS) provides individually tailored holistic support to Three Rivers residents over 18 who are experiencing mental ill health or poor wellbeing. 
  • Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide. They provide support for people experiencing suicidal thoughts. 
  • Change Grow Live (CGL) is a holistic service for children, young people, families and adults to address problems relating to drug and alcohol use. CGL supports people to make and sustain the changes to reduce drug and/ or alcohol use safely. 
  • The Living Room provides peer support group therapy to residents suffering with an addiction, in addition to specific projects focussed on relationships and eating disorders and support for family and carers. 
  • Turning point supports people suffering from addition, mental ill health and learning difficulties. They offer a range of services dependent on need to support people in managing their health.
  • Domestic Abuse Service (DAS) is a support service available for over 18’s experiencing domestic abuse within Three Rivers. 
  • Domestic Abuse Prevention Service (DAP) is a service for over 18’s in Three Rivers who want support to change behaviour that may be causing a partner, ex partner or family member distress or harm. 
  • Refuge (Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy) offer county-wide support to people experiencing all forms of domestic abuse, including those at highest risk of serious harm. 
  • Safer Places is an independent charity that provides a range of services to adults and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse. Services include safe accommodation and outreach. 
  • New Hope Trust is a charity that supports adults who are homeless, or vulnerably housed. They provide emergency accommodation as well as support and accommodation throughout the service.
  • Herts Help offer adults with guidance on local services and where to turn to.
