Environmental Enforcement Officer

12 Month Fixed Term Contract - Full time
Salary: £26,264 to £27,947 (which includes local weighting allowance)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Environmental Protection Enforcement Section for a 12 month fixed term role as Environmental Enforcement Officer.

You will join the Section at a particularly busy time, as we prepare for the changes to our Garden Waste Service, having responsibility for the enforcement of relevant sections of the following:

  • Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Control of Pollution Act 1989
  • Anti-social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014
  • Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005 (refuse/recyclingcompliance, street litter notices, flytipping etc.)

The role will include issuing fixed penalty notices and be responsible for maximising income to the Council by promoting our trade refuse collection service.

You will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, the ability to learn at pace, together with an enthusiasm for waste management and the Environment.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred but not essential. You will be able to work well under pressure and on your own initiative, as well as being an a team player.

The post is based at Batchworth Depot, Harefield Road, Rickmansworth.
