Three Rivers District Council Sustainability Fund

In 2019, Three Rivers District Council passed a motion declaring a climate emergency and subsequently published a Climate Change Strategy that seeks to make Three Rivers District Council carbon neutral for its own operations by 2030 for its own. In May 2021, the Council adopted a strategy that commits to eradicating emissions in the District by 2045.

As a result, the Three Rivers District Council Sustainability Fund has been created to enable Voluntary Sector organisations active in the district to apply for up to £1,500 for projects that seek to reduce, mitigate or help us adapt to the impact of climate change and/or enhance sustainability in the District. A copy of the Council’s strategy can be found here

Hertfordshire County Council have joined up with Hertfordshire Community Foundation and CrowdFunder to create the Sustainable Hertfordshire Fund, with up to £5,000 in match funding available for projects which will lead to a more sustainable County for our residents.

Through the Sustainable Hertfordshire Fund, we want to inspire and back projects that support our climate emergency response by assisting with one or more of our ambitions.

These ambitions include:

  • To create communities ready for future climates
  • To improve wildlife across the county by 20% by 2050
  • To provide access to clean air for all by 2030

To be eligible to receive up to £5,000 from the fund, projects must be local to Hertfordshire and benefit people who live or work in the county.
