About Three Rivers District Council
Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north-west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The area has a diverse range of sectors and businesses and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster along with Elstree and Pinewood is a short drive away.

The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Council on a 5 year fixed-term contract as a Community Liaison Officer. The role of the Community Liaison Officer will be based across the Housing Services Department and the Community Partnerships Department.

Housing Services - As part of the Council’s commitment to house five Syrian Refugee families as part of the United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (UKRS), this post will be responsible for the procurement of suitable properties for the families and the ongoing management of the tenancies. This post will also be responsible to refer and signpost the families to relevant supporting agencies and to submit funding claims to statutory bodies for relevant funding required.

Community Partnerships - The role will be responsible for the progress of the Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership Hate Crime Action Plan, in development and delivery. In addition, the role will be required to support and deliver the work plan for the Equalities Sub-committee

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and driven individual with highly effective communication skills, the ability to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to work independently.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in community engagement and the development of action plans to progress work plans and must be able to communicate effectively and be proactive in engaging with private landlords, charities and other relevant agencies involved in the support of refugee families
