Casual Leisure Support Worker

Starting salary £10.90 per hour (dependent on role & project)
Additional pay for those with childcare qualifications working on childcare based sessions e.g. Playscheme / Play Rangers

Location:
Across Three Rivers District

Roles:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with experience of or have an interest in working with children, young people, and adults. You will need to be flexible in your attitude and approach as you may be required to work with varying age groups and on varying leisure activities in a relaxed and informal setting.

You may be asked to work at many different Leisure service sites:
- Holiday Playschemes (Easter & Summer) across schools in the Three Rivers District
- Play Rangers – open spaces & woodland areas in the Three Rivers District and at local schools
- Photography walks
- Nature activities such as bat walks and river dipping
- Leisure events such as the annual skate jam
- Working across the Sport, Art and Inclusive Leisure activities

You will receive full training and induction detailing specific procedures.

Hours of work:
Hours could vary between 8am – 8pm, Monday – Friday, term-time and school holidays with regular / occasional evening and weekend work. This is dependent on the site / activity you will be working at.

Training:
The post holder will be required to complete the following mandatory training before starting their role:
• Staff induction
• Safeguarding
• First Aid

The candidate must ensure that they are available for the training (training dates below).


Summer 2023 working dates:

Playscheme at Yorke Mead Primary School
Monday 24th July – Friday 18th August 2023

Play Rangers across the district
Monday 24th July – Friday 25th August

Priority will be given to applicants that can work the above dates.

Training dates:

• Paediatric First Aid
Saturday 15th July, 9.30-4pm
Sunday 16th July, 9.30-4pm
Both dates must be attended.

• Induction
To be confirmed.

• Safeguarding training
Monday 17th July, 6-9pm

• Basic first aid training
Tuesday 18th July, 6-10pm

• Playscheme planning meeting
Thursday 20th July, 6-7.30pm, online

• Site set up
Saturday 1st April
Timings TBC
