The Three Rivers Employment Accelerator programme “Unlock your Potential” is being launched by Three Rivers District Council in partnership with Watford Chamber of Commerce.
The new scheme offers anyone over 18 living in Three Rivers the chance to sign up to a flexible three month programme to give them the confidence and guidance to establish a dream career. We particularly want to support those who have experienced difficulties in finding and maintaining work.

BBO Strive Virtual Support & Healthy Hub

HAFLS Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme helps you gain employment and skills mentoring support, the projects are continuing to run during this period and BBO mentors are providing support to participants either online or via the phone. The Centre provides Education and Training opportunities for women and men who want to build confidence, gain new skills and create employment opportunities for themselves so that they can lead more independent and productive lives. They offer a huge range of courses to residents of Hertfordshire to develop skills and improve employability.

They are re-opening their doors Monday – Thursday 9.30am – 4.30pm, as well as continuing with their online services. They are currently running a virtual Job Club via ZOOM, on Thursdays 12.45pm- 2.45pm.

ESOL courses cater for people of all levels, who would like to improve their English speaking, listening, reading and writing, and/or gain qualifications to prove their level of proficiency in the language. Access to these courses have been made available via Ascend, who offer a 10 week beginners course and Watford Women’s Centre who offer six levels of ESOL from Beginner to Upper- Intermediate.
West Herts College offer a number of courses to help you to reach your goals, including more manageable, part time courses. The college are working in partnership with Jobcentre to offer training, careers advice and employment guidance in order to get you back to work. The Citizens Advice Service is a network of 316 independent charities throughout the United Kingdom that give free, confidential information and advice.

The ‘Skills Toolkit’ is an online learning platform launched by the UK Government. It offers free online courses, tools and resources to help improve digital skills.
Step Up (South Oxhey) is a partnership project between ASCEND and Three Rivers District Council. It provides a drop-in facility and coffee bar for clients, training spaces for courses, interview rooms for counselling and guidance and a workspace for staff and volunteers.
ASCENDs Job Club currently runs from Step Up on a Friday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, supporting people to get back into employment. Their Job Club advisers can help you with online job searches, writing CVs and job application letters. For more information and support they can be contacted on the following:

Hillside Community Hub a drop-in facility for local residents to access a wide range of services and support. Every Tuesday pop in for free help, advice and support from an ASCEND Guidance Worker and other business professionals to create/ update CVs, give advice on interview techniques and help with job searching.
