Celebrate the district’s unsung heroes next month

Volunteers who give their time, skills and compassion for others and help Three Rivers to thrive are to be celebrated next month.

In celebration of Volunteers Week, Three Rivers District Council, in partnership with Watford & Three Rivers Trust and Croxley Business Park, is hosting a community volunteer networking event at the Barn in Croxley Business Park, WD18 8AS on Tuesday 3 June, from 1pm to 3pm.

The event is to celebrate local volunteers and is an opportunity to bring together local organisations and their volunteers to network and explore possible partnerships for future collaboration.

Local community groups will showcase their services with Three Rivers Museum providing a talk on the history of the district. Live music from Good Vibrations CIC, a local community group that provide musical experience, instrument repair and offer a welcoming space for those in need, to come and relax, play some music and have some food.

Go Vol Herts will also be on hand for local voluntary groups to find out more about their free digital volunteering platform and how they can promote volunteering opportunities to the local community.

Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said “Voluntary groups are vital to our district and volunteers are the backbone of our community. Due to their dedication, selflessness and energy ensuring vital services and spaces remain available to the community. The Volunteers Networking Event is our way of saying thank you and supporting the vital contributions volunteers and community organisations make to our district.
