An Abbots Langley woman has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after she continuously breached a Community Protection Notice which prevented her from visiting a local property.
Geraldine Walsh, 38, of Gade View Gardens, was given the order at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 30 March. The five year order was served after Walsh continuously breached a Community Protection Notice served under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Walsh was issued with a Community Protection Notice in February 2021 after breaching a Community Protection Warning following anti-social behaviour and crime relating to a Three Rivers resident living in Carpenders Park.
Walsh was ordered not to attend the property at which harassment, alarm and distress was being caused. However, Walsh continuously breached her Community Protection Notice, which led to the council bringing the prosecution to court.
The CBO, obtained by Three Rivers District Council supported by Hertfordshire Police, orders Walsh not to enter a property in Carpenders Park, and should she do so she will be committing a criminal offence and could be sent to prison.
Walsh has been known to the Community Safety Partnership for several years for anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns, not only for others but for herself. A wealth of interventions and engagements have been offered to support Walsh but due to her complex, chaotic lifestyle she has not engaged and the behaviour has continued.
Michelle Wright, Community Safety Intervention Officer said: “Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership persistently tried to get Walsh to engage with support services to help her individual needs.
“We will always look at intervention, support and then ultimately enforcement. With this case Walsh left us no option other than to take prosecution proceedings on the back of her post-conviction. We are hoping that she adheres to the prohibitions of the CBO and the community can get some respite from this continuous unacceptable behaviour.”
