New parking rules at three locations to improve safety

Changes to parking rules in three areas of Three Rivers will soon come into effect following public consultation.
Three Rivers District Council plans to implement three parking schemes next month after public consultation earlier this year for each proposal.
Ferry Car Park, Chorleywood
The car park is currently free for up to four hours. Following requests due to the displacement of parking in Chorleywood, thought to be caused by the new charges at the station, the car park will be changing to allow parking all day for £4, whilst retaining short stay bays with two hours free. The existing business permit scheme remains.
The introduction of changes and charges to The Ferry Car Park is designed to provide a more flexible use of the parking for residents, businesses and visitors whilst maintaining the turnover of spaces throughout the day.
The restrictions will come into effect from Monday 3 November. For more information please visit the page here: Ferry Carpark Scheme
High Elms Lane, Garston
This scheme was developed over several stages of public consultation and involves new double yellow lines to prevent parking where it is not safe to do so, some limited waiting parking bays (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, two hours maximum stay, no return within two hours) to encourage turnover of some previously uncontrolled parking spaces and a new school keep clear marking to improve access at St Michael’s Catholic High School.
The scheme was designed to address complaints which have arisen from the behaviour of drivers using this rural road for access and to improve the complex parking and loading problems that arise from the large number of people attending the schools and crematorium.
The restrictions will come into effect from Monday 3 November. For more information please visit the page here: High Elms Lane Scheme
Primrose Hill, Kings Langley
Following several stages of public consultation, the scheme is now focused on the installation of double yellow lines in the area of Primrose Hill and Railway Terrace in Kings Langley. The council does not intend to implement any new restrictions in the disused bus stops in the area.
Bollards will also be installed in the vicinity of the Pelican crossing point near Primrose Hill Playing Fields to support the enforcement and management of new and existing restrictions.
The restrictions will come into effect from Monday 10 November. For more information please visit the page here: Primrose Hill Scheme
