New CCTV cameras have been installed in key areas across Three Rivers to further deter crime and anti-social behaviour.

Following a £76,716 funding allocation from Three Rivers District Council to the Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership, which the council and Hertfordshire Police are members of, nine CCTV cameras have been installed in Rickmansworth, Mill End, Carpenders Park, Abbots Langley and South Oxhey.

The cameras are all mobile and can be deployed across the district to anti-social behaviour and crime hotspots. The funds came from the district council’s Community Infrastructure Levy pot – a charge on new developments within the district – and was approved by councillors at a meeting of Full Council on Tuesday 10 December 2024.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “I am delighted that the CCTV cameras have been installed and are now fully operational.

“Our district is a welcoming and safe area with a relatively low crime rate. That being said, we are committed to keeping our areas safe, so having these cameras, along with our other community safety initiatives, will help us to deter and further prevent crime and anti-social behaviour blighting our communities.

“So, if you are fly-tipper or commit any other crime and anti-social behaviour, we will be watching you.”
