Cash grants for local businesses have been doubled to £10,000 as part of a major programme from Three Rivers District Council to support those hit by the pandemic.

The Three Rivers Business Growth Grants are helping to support local businesses, drive innovation, growth, efficiency and productivity for companies affected by Covid.

Three Rivers Business Growth Grants are now worth between £2,000 and £10,000 to be spent on business consultation services as well as business tools and equipment. The investment is aimed at sustaining, supporting and creating jobs and growth.

The council has partnered with Hertfordshire Growth Hub, powered by Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, to deliver the programme of support which launched in August.

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: "It is vital that we are now offering bigger grants to help our local businesses at this critical moment of the ongoing pandemic. We want to ensure our business are on the best possible position for when we all emerge from this pandemic – which is why we are taking this action.

"I strongly urge any local employer who thinks they qualify for these grants to get in touch now and see if we can help.”

Hertfordshire Growth Hub (HGH) will decide which businesses to support, as well as how much funding to award. Grants are available for businesses which employ between two and 19 people, have the capability to grow and have been affected by Covid restrictions.

Liza Armstrong, Head of Service for Hertfordshire Growth Hub, said: "We are pleased to continue to work with Three Rivers District Council to support local businesses at a time when support is needed, more than ever. This is an opportunity for businesses to meet with our experienced business advisers who will provide 1-2-1 support, discuss their challenges, and agree key actions to enable business growth."
