Let's make our district a haven of opportunity and enterprising spirit – that’s the message from the Leader of Three Rivers District Council as a new scheme to support start-up businesses is launched.
The council has launched the Business Advice and Support Programme to give local residents who are looking to start a new business a host of pre-start and early stage business support.
The scheme – which is free and aimed at aspiring and new business owners – is being provided by Wenta, a leading Enterprise Agency in partnership with the council.
The scheme will give access to one-to-one advice from experts, skills training webinars and workshops on topics ranging from social media to marketing and cash flow, IT, HR, legal and website advice and virtual networking opportunities.
The Leader of Three Rivers District Council, Cllr Sarah Nelmes, said: “It’s been a tough two years, but it’s also been a time when a lot of people have had new business ideas and started trying new things. We want this district to be a place that helps and encourages these new entrepreneurs to thrive – a haven of opportunity and enterprising spirit.
“That’s why we are delighted to be working with the experts at Wenta to encourage new businesses in the critical early stages to succeed. If you have just started a business, or if you have a business idea which you want to make a reality now is the time. Get in touch today and find out more.”
Simon Holmes, Director of Client Services at Wenta, said: “We are really pleased to be working in partnership with Three Rivers to support new upcoming businesses, helping them to start, survive and grow. Wenta has supported over 18,000 businesses of all sectors, shapes and sizes since the start of the pandemic and look forward to using our experience with the Council team."
The district council has recently launched a number of initiatives to support local businesses, including the Three Rivers Sustainable Business Programme and The Green Business Grants as well as offering support to businesses hit by the recent Omicron restrictions.
