Help shape the future of sport and physical activity in Three Rivers

Residents are being invited to share their views on sport, exercise, and physical activity through a new public consultation.
Three Rivers District Council’s Sports and Physical Activity Strategy survey aims to better understand local habits, barriers and preferences to shape future services, facilities and opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
The council’s Lead Member for Leisure, Cllr Chris Lloyd, said: “We want to hear from everyone — whether you’re a regular gym-goer, someone who enjoys walking or running, or if getting active currently isn’t part of your routine.
“Your feedback will help us understand what’s working, what’s missing, and how we can support our community to become more active and healthier. In 2026 I am planning to do more walking as I am a strong believer that being active is beneficial for not only your physical health, but your mental health too.”
The consultation explores:
- How often residents take part in sport or physical activity
- What motivates people to get active
- What prevents people from taking part
- Which spaces, programmes or activities people would like to see more of locally
The insights gathered will inform the new Sport and Physical Activity Strategy and action plan for future planning, investment and decision-making around sports facilities, clubs, community programmes and parks and open spaces.
The survey takes around 5-10 minutes to complete and is open until 18 January 2026.
