Councils continue to collaborate over former British Red Cross Centre’s future

The parish and district councils are finalising proposals to redevelop the former Red Cross building in Croxley Green, which is hoped to be a ‘win, win’ for local residents.
Last year, Three Rivers District Council and Croxley Green Parish Council agreed in principle on plans to replace the former Red Cross Centre, between Barton Way and Community Way, with a new building that would provide office and meeting spaces for the parish council, a new community space, and up to eight two-bedroom flats for local families.
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “I am glad that we continue to work hard with Croxley Green Parish Council to ensure we provide the best deal for residents. We are finalising the designs of what the building might look like, and we are close to sealing the lease arrangements with the parish council.
“We know that the former Red Cross building was highly valued by our community, so we, in conjunction with the parish council, will be undertaking a community engagement event in Croxley Green, showcasing what the development, subject to planning permission, might look like. We will announce further details as soon as possible.”
The proposal is still subject to planning permission, detailed discussion of the scheme's financial and operational implications, and an assessment of its development viability.
Further details on this exciting scheme will be released in due course. Please continue to regularly check back on our dedicated webpage for updates.
