Residents have been given an overview of outline designs for a new feature building that could replace the former Red Cross Centre in Croxley Green.

Three Rivers District Council has published its and Croxley Green Parish Council's vision on what the proposed building on Barton Way next to the library may look like – which includes a new parish council office and community space on the ground floor and up to eight affordable flats on the first and second floor.

The computer-generated images (CGI) were showcased to locals for feedback at a community engagement event at Croxley Green Library on Monday 14 July. The images will be available to view for a further two weeks at the Parish Council’s office in Community Way during usual opening hours.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “I am delighted that we were able to share our vision for the former Red Cross site with local residents. Designers have worked to get what looks like a key new feature building on this site.

“The proposed building has been carefully designed to fit in with the local area and to provide enough parking to alleviate pressure off the road network. It will also be a new focal point for the community with a new centre as well as providing much-needed affordable housing for local families that are on our waiting list.

“If you were unable to attend the event, don’t worry. The CGIs will continue to be displayed at Croxley Green Parish Council for two weeks where you can leave your comments on the design.”

The proposals are still subject to planning permission. The district council intends to submit a planning application during the summer.
