The public are set to have a preview of proposals for the future of the former Red Cross building in Croxley Green.

Plans to demolish the Barton Way building and construct new offices and affordable apartments - with a community hall on the ground floor - will be on show at the public engagement event at Croxley Green Library on Monday 14 July. In an agreement with Three Rivers District Council, the new building will be occupied and managed by Croxley Green Parish Council. The first and second floors will provide up to eight social rental apartments for local families.

The parish council will also host a display of the proposals at its offices for the following two weeks from Tuesday 15 July, where members of the public are invited to view the designs during council office opening hours.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, leader of the district council, said: “This is an opportunity for residents and anyone interested to come and review our proposals, and to give us their feedback. I am delighted to be working so closely with the parish council on this, and as I have said before, I think we have come up with a solution that can really be considered a win for all involved.”

Cllr David Tobin, Chair of Croxley Green Parish Council, said: “We hope that as many residents as possible will take the opportunity to view the proposals and make their comments.”

The proposals are still subject to planning permission and the conclusion of detailed discussions regarding the scheme's financial and operational implications for both councils.

Following the public engagement event and receipt of all feedback, the councils intend to submit a full planning application by the end of July / August 2025.

The public engagement event at Croxley Green Library on Monday 14 July will be open between 3pm and 6pm.
