Transparency and openness
We are committed to being open and transparent about our financial affairs. This section provides information on lists, registers, budgets, assets held by the council and other information.
Supplier payments
We are required to publish details of all payments of £500 or more. This includes actual payments, tenders and contracts but excludes purchase card payments and payments to individuals, such as benefit payments, council tax refunds and non-invoice-related payments.

Our Pay Policy Statement 2025 (PDF, 1.6 MB) sets out how we attract, recruit, retain and engage while maintaining openness and transparency across our operations. The policy statement includes the 'Pay Multiple' (the ratio between the highest paid salary and the median average salary of the whole of the authority's workforce).

Trade union facility time
Council employees are allowed staff time for union duties/activities for Unison and GMB. A ‘reasonable’ amount of time is permitted, and this is monitored by the line manager.
