Call for sites
In 2017 we invited land owners, agents and developers to submit new sites that could be developed to meet future demand for homes and jobs as part of our Issues & Options and Call for Sites consultation. In 2018, we undertook an additional call for sites, and in 2023 a call for brownfield sites. A further call for sites was undertaken between 22 January 2025 and 19 February 2025. We also considered sites submitted as a result of our Potential Sites Consultation (2018) and Regulation 18 Consultations (2021 and 2023). You can view details of these consultations here.
Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Call for Sites
The council is required to seek to identify enough land to meet the district’s housing needs for gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeople. To meet this requirement the council is carrying out a call for sites and is therefore inviting individuals, landowners or developers to suggest potential sites for gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeople use which are available and suitable for pitches/plots and potentially for transit stopping places.
The sites put forward can be new sites, or existing sites with potential for limited expansion and/ or intensification (i.e. more pitches/plots on an existing site within its current boundary).
