Additional call for Brownfield Sites

We are aiming to identify any potentially suitable and newly available brownfield sites for all types of housing and commercial development

In 2017 we invited land owners, agents and developers to submit new sites that could be developed to meet future demand for homes and jobs as part of our Issues & Options and Call for Sites consultation. In 2018, we undertook an additional call for sites. We also considered sites submitted as a result of our Potential Sites Consultation (2018) and Regulation 18 Potential Sites for Allocation Consultation (2021).  You can view details of these consultations here.

The sites submitted as part of previous consultations and call for sites, together with those submitted after the closing date, have been assessed as part of the Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment process.

The Council will be consulting on ‘Our vision for Three Rivers - our preferred Local Plan and housing numbers’ in autumn 2023. In order to reduce the amount of greenfield land that is required for development, we are aiming to identify any potentially suitable and newly available brownfield sites for all types of housing and commercial development on brownfield land within Three Rivers.

These should be submitted to us on a suitable map showing the boundary of the site in red, along with a completed Call for Sites Submission Form (downloadable below).

Sites which have already been submitted should not be re-submitted as part of this call for sites.

Responses to this call for brownfield sites can be submitted to us using the downloadable form in one of the following ways:

By email to: localplanconsult@threerivers.gov.uk

By post to: Planning Policy & Conservation, Three Rivers District Council, Three Rivers House, Northway, Rickmansworth, Herts WD3 1RL

All the brownfield sites promoted to us will be reviewed and these will help to inform the content of the next stages of the new Local Plan.
