Swift action over ‘blatant disregard’ for planning rules in Long Spring

Prompt action has been taken to safeguard protected woodland at Long Spring, Sarratt Lane, Loudwater, following unauthorised development at the site.
Three Rivers District Councill has served a stop notice and an enforcement notice to ensure restrictions continue without interruption and orders that works started in August without planning permission are removed.
Unauthorised work to create a new access and install timber gates were started in the summer. The district council responded quickly by issuing a temporary stop notice, preventing further unauthorised activity.
Cllr Louise Price, Deputy Leader of the Council, said: “Such blatant disregard for planning law cannot and will not be allowed. Let this stand as an example to others that this council and its planning rules will not be ignored. We have taken action in Long Spring, and we will do it again whenever we have to.”
A separate planning application for a two-pitch traveller site at the location is currently being considered by planning officers. It will be assessed on its own merits through the established planning process.
