Three Rivers councillors have agreed a plan for the next three years which reinforces the council’s vision for its communities and a commitment to efficient and effective services.

As part of this Three Rivers will continue to pursue sustainable economic growth. It is committed to ensuring residents have access to good quality services, parks and open space plus homes they can afford.

Following consultation with partner agencies, local businesses and the public, the council’s vision for 2020-23 has four key priorities:

  • Housing and thriving communities
  • Sustainable environment
  • Successful economy
  • A high performing, financially independent council.

Sara Bedford, Leader of the Council, said: “This framework sets out our ambitions for Three Rivers, including our commitment to tackling climate change, increase affordable housing, support the local business community, and ensure the Council maintains its high performance and financial capacity.

“I want Three Rivers to be a place for everyone, where all communities and businesses enjoy a healthy and sustainable future with access to decent housing and inspiring open spaces, high-quality services, and a successful economy.”

Joanne Wagstaffe, the Chief Executive, added: “Following on from the Council’s Peer Review in March 2019, we have been working to develop this new framework to set a clear vision for the priorities of the Council. I am pleased to see the level of support for these priorities. Our officers will continue to work hard to deliver on them."
