Three Rivers appoints new Chief Executive

After a competitive selection process, with a high number of applicants, Joanne Wagstaffe, currently, Director of Finance has been appointed as Three Rivers’ new Chief Executive Officer. Joanne will assume her new role on 3 February 2020.

After a competitive selection process, with a high number of applicants, Joanne Wagstaffe, currently, Director of Finance has been appointed as Three Rivers’ new Chief Executive Officer. Joanne will assume her new role on 3 February 2020.

“We are a forward-looking council, striving to make a positive impact to our residents, businesses, voluntary organisations and visitors. I will continue to serve the council by enabling colleagues and councillors to make a real difference.”

Jo succeeds interim Chief Executive, David Hill, who has been in post supporting the organisation and its staff over the last six months.

Cllr Sara Bedford, Leader of the Council, added: “I am excited to continue to work with Jo, who has the skills and record of achievement we believe are critical to lead the council. We are all excited to see where Jo’s leadership will take the Council in the coming months and years."

Joanne has been the Shared Director of Resources with both Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council since 2013. The Councils have separate management teams but have many shared services including Finance, Revenues and Benefits, ICT, Internal Audit, Fraud, Procurement, Pest Control and HR.

Previously to her current role, Jo was the Director of Resources with Wyre Forest District Council; Director of Resources and Transformation with Copeland Borough Council; and an Assistant Director at Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council. Jo also has extensive private sector experience.
