Tenants and Leaseholders Conference hailed a success

Updated: 16 November 2005

The fourth annual Tenants and Leaseholders Conference was held by Three Rivers District Council on Saturday 12 November, at All Saints Church in South Oxhey.

Attendance at the conference was high, with all 150 seats booked - many attendees came along to hear discussions on stock transfer, which will be voted on by tenants in 2007.

Housing Policy Manager Howard Beresford spoke to tenants about housing strategy; Andy Stovold, Community Partnerships Manager, spoke about combating anti-social behaviour and hate crime in the district, and the new Director of Housing and Health Patrick Odling-Smee talked to tenants about housing stock transfer. Tenants also had the opportunity to ask questions of Councillors and Council staff.

Councillor Matthew Bedford, Housing portfolio holder, said:

"This year's conference was a great success, and we have received really positive feedback from those who attended. The Council works to keep local tenants and leaseholders informed on issues that affect them and we always want to hear their views. On issues such as housing stock transfer, it is so important that tenants are aware of how it would affect them, and have the chance to have their say."

Any tenants and leaseholders who were unable to attend on Saturday will be invited to a second conference, to take place on Saturday 28 January 2006 at Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth.
