Tax and housing advice available for Three Rivers residents

Updated: 5 April 2023Council tax

Advice on council tax and housing is available to residents across Three Rivers district over the coming months.

Advice sessions will be running at Three Rivers District Council’s Healthy Hubs, which take place in Mill End, South Oxhey and Abbots Langley.

Three Rivers housing options and advice officers will be on hand to provide guidance and assistance to anyone homeless or threatened with homelessness to help them understand all the options available.

And the council’s council tax, revenues and benefits officers will be providing advice and support for claiming housing benefit, council tax support, disabled relief and single person’s discounts.

Emma Sheridan, the council’s Head of Community Partnerships, said: “These free sessions are here to help residents find out about all the options that are available to help them. Council tax, tax support and benefits processes can be complicated to understand and work through and we hope that by bringing these advice sessions into the heart of local communities we can support anyone who needs a bit of guidance to get the help they need and answer any questions they might have.

“Whether it is advice on council tax or support for someone facing homelessness – we are here to offer information and help in a supportive environment. Just as our health protection services serve to catch ill health before it becomes a larger issue, accessing early help and advice on issues like housing, tax and benefits can help residents avoid longer term problems.”

The Healthy Hubs are a one-stop shop where residents can get help, information, advice and guidance to boost their physical and mental health to help them stay healthy, happy and well. Healthy Hubs work with a range of professionals who can help residents get the right service or activity. Anyone can drop in without an appointment or access services/activities by phone or email.
