Have your say on Rickmansworth West parking scheme

Press ReleaseUpdated: 1 December 2025Parking

Measures to manage parking in the Moneyhill area in Rickmansworth are set to be reviewed – and you can have your say.

The Controlled Parking Zone, known as ‘RW’, was implemented in December 2024 and was developed by Three Rivers District Council in response to requests from residents and the general public for a solution to local parking problems.

Complaints included problems from inconsiderate parking in local roads, including from drivers seeking free parking while commuting to nearby towns from the railway station. Following extensive periods of consultation, the scheme was only introduced in roads where a majority responded in favour of the new controls.

The scheme is summarised below:

  • Parts of Uxbridge Road - a clearway (applies at all times) and a loading bay.
  • Uxbridge Road Service Road (outside the shops) - up to 4 hours parking, registering at the machines and some permit parking.
  • Parts  of Elm Way - up to 4 hours parking, registering at the machines, some permit parking and some no-waiting restrictions.
  • Mount View - resident permit parking, no-waiting restrictions and some business permit parking.
  • Parts of Field Way - resident permit parking and no-waiting restrictions.
  • Dellwood - no-waiting restrictions and permit parking.

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Deputy Leader of Three Rivers District Council and Lead Member of General Public Services, said “After listening to concerns, the council acted to free-up parking spaces to improve the shopping and visitor experience at Moneyhill as well as improve the safety for people travelling locally.

“It’s been a year since we introduced the scheme, and we are keen to hear your views on what is working well and what we can improve on. Please send your responses by 22 December 2025 so our officers can consider your thoughts before any future decisions are made.”

To respond to the consultation please visit www.haveyoursay.threerivers.gov.uk/rickmansworth-west. If you would prefer a paper copy of the survey form, please contact the council.

If any proposed improvements are developed, further public consultations will take place prior to implementation. If there isn’t clear support for changes, or if views are strongly conflicted, the council may not develop this review further.
