More than three quarters of residents give district council services the thumbs up

A recent survey has revealed more than three quarters of Three Rivers residents who responded to it are satisfied with the way their local district council runs its services.

The finding is just one of a variety gathered in the latest residents’ survey conducted by Three Rivers District Council. The figures have been published ahead of the council’s next annual residents survey, due to be launched later this year.

Of those who responded, 77.3% are very satisfied or fairly satisfied with the way Three Rivers District Council runs it services. More than half (60.7%) of respondents either strongly agreed or tended to agree that Three Rivers District Council provides value for money and 59.7% of respondents trust the council a great deal or a fair amount.

Meanwhile, 86.8% of respondents are very satisfied or fairly satisfied with their local area as a place to live whilst 93.1% of respondents feel very safe or fairly safe in their local area during the day with 70.3% of respondents feel very safe or fairly safe in their local area after dark.

About three quarters of respondents, strongly agree or tend to agree that the council is easy to contact.

Access to affordable housing turned out to be the biggest concern for respondents followed by physical health and wellbeing and environment and climate change.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, the Leader of the Council, said: “It’s very encouraging to see that so many residents, visitors and stakeholders who took part in this survey give the council a high satisfaction score. The council is here to serve and provide the highest quality of services for the best value of money that we possibly can.

“As leader, I am determined that this council will do that, and we will also listen whenever there is constructive criticism too. So, I encourage everyone to take the time to complete the next survey when it is live in order to have your say on the services we provide.”

The survey was open between 1 October 2024 and 31 March 2025.
