An exciting lineup of new Red Carpet events at Watersmeet in Rickmansworth kicked-off last week with a special Valentines event.

Watersmeet is screening an extensive programme of event cinema which includes titles from the Royal Ballet, Royal Opera House, NT Live and Exhibitions on Screen meaning that you will have the 'best' seat in the house from which to enjoy a screening of your favourite live shows. The theatre has gone one step further and upgraded several of these events whereby you will receive the ‘red carpet’ treatment.

On 14 February the theatre and cinema hosted its first Red Carpet event with a screening of Klimt and The Kiss, an exquisitely rich film that delves into the detail and passion surrounding Gustav Klimt’s iconic artwork as well as revealing the scandalous life of the artist himself.

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, which owns and operates the theatre, said: “Seeing these specially recorded shows on the big screen is the next best thing to being at a London theatre, but without the travelling and additional expense. The ‘Red Carpet’ events add a further element of luxury to the evening as you will be served a glass of Prosecco, bucks fizz or orange juice and given some chocolates to enjoy during the screening.”

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, added: “This event was a real treat for those looking to celebrate Valentines Day’ with friends or loved ones and the feedback for this first event has been extremely positive. The audience particularly enjoyed the welcome drink and were given chocolates to enjoy during the screening.”

The next Red Carpet event will be Madame Butterfly on 26 March and full details of these events can be found on watersmeet.co.uk.
