Artistsmeet is excited to announce its newest arrival of artwork, and not intended for the bright white walls of the gallery…

A colourful hand painted mural has been installed on the outside of Watersmeet as a way of promoting the Artistsmeet gallery within and celebrates an ongoing art project with local artists and school children.

‘Make your Mark!’ is a project co-ordinated by Three Rivers District Council in partnership with Berry Lane Art Group and St Peter’s C of E Primary School in Mill End, where Year 6 pupils submitted designs into a competition in the hope of their entry featuring in part of the permanent mural, designed by Berry Lane Art Group.

The children’s designs were themed around their favourite memories of Rickmansworth and as part of the project they also painted their own tiles to feature in The Big Draw exhibition which took place at the gallery in October.

Philippa Golding Headteacher, St Peter’s C of E School said: “Our children worked with Artistsmeet over several weeks. This has been a wonderful experience, not only from a creative point of view, but also for our children to be involved in adding to their local community's culture. Thank you”

Cllr. Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with a St Peter’s C of E  and Berry Lane Art Group for this exhibition. There are many talented young people studying creative subjects locally and this is an excellent opportunity to celebrate their work and provide them with public exposure. Make sure when you come to the Pantomime or the January films you have a look”

To celebrate the new artwork and the partnership with the school, an informal prize giving presentation took place for the children involved, their families and staff from St Peter’s School on Friday 11th December at Artistsmeet, Watersmeet.
