Take a look at draft masterplan for Aquadrome

Residents and visitors have the chance to view and engage with the council’s initial vision for the Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
Three Rivers District Council has been progressing its plans to enhance, nurture and protect the well-loved nature reserve as well as achieve a balance so that nature can flourish, and visitors can connect with and discover the beautiful and unique wildlife at the site.
After successfully securing more than £700,000 thanks to National Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, officers have been developing a site wide Masterplan, detailed designs relating to landscaping, hydrology, tree and vegetation management and visitor experience and connectivity. This work will give the council clear specifications, costings and planned programmes, which will inform the Delivery Phase funding application of about £5m to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The emerging concepts and draft illustrations on what this could mean for the Aquadrome and what it could look like are being shown publicly for residents and visitors to engage with online via the Have Your Say page.
The public can engage with different aspects of the project, such as nature recovery, the visitor experience, saving the site’s heritage and protecting nature.
Three Rivers District Council and its contractor, RSK, will also be hosting an in-person engagement session outside the café in the Aquadrome on Saturday 7 March from 9:30am to 2pm.
Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, said: “Our officers and our specialist contractors have worked very hard to gather evidence and information from a multitude of surveys to develop a draft masterplan for the Aquadrome.
“We know the site is well-loved by residents and visitors afar. That is why we want to engage with as many people as possible to join us on this chapter of the Aquadrome’s journey and ensure we are on the right track so that the Aquadrome is sustainable for generations to come.”
