Report an accident involving a licensed vehicle
License holders must report accidents involving a licensed vehicle within 72 hours of an incident
Accidents involving licensed taxis and private hire vehicles must be reported to us by the licence holder as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours after the incident. If you do not notify us of an accident within this timeframe, you can receive penalty points on your licence.
When reporting an accident, you will need to provide:
- details about the incident, including when it occurred
- photos of the damage
- a photo showing the vehicle registration number
If your licensed vehicle has sustained damage affecting its safety, performance or appearance, you will need to organise a repair. You will then need to obtain a new compliance certificate from one of our designated garages (PDF) and submit it to licensing.team@threerivers.gov.uk before using your vehicle again.
