Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) - Wave 1
Three Rivers District Council has secured Social Housing Decarbonisation Funding from the Government to improve the energy efficiency of local social housing with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D or below. The funding will be administered by the Council to help qualifying tenants upgrade their homes.
The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund aims to support green jobs and make progress towards national climate change targets while helping households to stay warm, save money, and reduce their carbon footprint.
Who is involved?
Three Rivers District Council are working with Watford Borough Council, housing associations Thrive Homes and Watford Community Housing, and managing agent OVO Energy, to deliver the funding to eligible homes.
What is the project about?
The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund will be supporting the installation of external wall insulation to over 130 properties in Three Rivers and Watford, which will help to make tenants’ homes healthier, more comfortable, and environmentally friendly. The improvements will also reduce the amount of energy needed to keep tenants’ homes warm, and refresh the external appearance of the properties too.
You can read more about external wall insulation here: View OVO Welcome Pack (pdf)
