Wet wipes belong in your REFUSE bin.

Examples: Baby wipes, make-up wipes, and anti-bacterial cleaning wipes.

Please Remember: Don’t believe the wipe!! Wet wipes are made of plastics, so cannot be flushed down your toilet, even the ones that say ‘flushable’, as none have passed industry water tests. The wet wipe packets must also go in your refuse bin. However, wipes and their packaging can be recycled with TerraCycle in some areas, so please store them up to recycle them this way if possible.

Hints and Tips: Why not try reusable wipes, washable wipes, in particular for makeup and cleaning!!

Fact: The 11 billion wipes used in the UK each year are behind 93% of blockages in UK sewers and are even changing the shape of our rivers as they pile up on beds and banks. Clearing these blockages costs tax payers thousands of pounds per year.
