Make volunteering your New Year's resolution
Carry the festive spirit into 2025 by considering volunteering as a New Year’s resolution, says council leader.
There is a wide range of volunteering opportunities locals can get involved in within Three Rivers. From sparing some time to spruce up a local park to helping vulnerable people; there is something for everyone.
Volunteering opportunities can be found across the district and Watford via the Watford and Three Rivers Trust website, which hosts an online platform that makes it easier for local groups to recruit and manage volunteers.
Local voluntary organisations are also listed on the council’s website, which can be found here. Organisations across Hertfordshire can also call out to volunteers via the GoVolHerts website.
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “Volunteering, no matter how small, can make a big difference to a local community and is extremely rewarding and sociable while boosting your own skills and experiences. Volunteers are the district’s unsung heroes, but we want more, so why not join in.”
