The Friends of the Aquadrome group is a brand new group, set up to help look after the popular LNR based in the heart of Rickmansworth. Residents who are eager to help improve and conserve the Aquadrome are invited to come along and find out more at the group’s first meeting. The meeting will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday November 27, at the Council Offices in Rickmansworth.

Established Friends groups are also busy working hard at Croxley Common Moor LNR, The Withey Beds LNR, Oxhey Woods LNR, Chorleywood House Estate LNR and Carpenders Wood LNR.

Councillor Martin Trevett, Portfolio Holder for the Environment, says:

"Friends groups carry out vital voluntary work to help keep these special sites in top condition, such as wildflower planting, litter picking, scrub bashing and guided walks. Friends are also involved with the sites' Management Plans and are encouraged to take an active role in the sites' future by suggesting projects they would like to see carried out. All tools are provided and no experience is necessary – just bags of enthusiasm! Why not get in touch and find out what it's all about."

Residents can ring 01923 727 105 or visit Local Nature Reserves page on the website for more information about the first meeting of the Friends of the Aquadrome group and to find out more about the other Friends groups established in the District.
