Three Rivers District Council will be celebrating the difference volunteers make to their organisation and thanking them for all their time and dedication during this year’s Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1-7 June.

Their Community Partnerships Team have been busy working in partnership with Watford and Three Rivers Trust to deliver supplies to those in need, staff have been coordinating donations and deliveries.

Watford and Three Rivers Trust are co-ordinating volunteer response for grocery and medication runs, plus checking in on vulnerable people.

Three Rivers has been encouraging residents to try volunteering and help them find out how, through volunteering, they can make a difference to a cause they are passionate about.

Sara Bedford, Leader of the Council, said: “I would like to personally thank all the volunteers who are involved in helping our communities. Year in, year out they make a real difference to the lives of other residents and the spirit of local communities. As a volunteer myself, I know the benefits that volunteering brings to the volunteer, as well as to the local area.

“This year we need to celebrate Volunteers Week albeit in a different way. Wherever you volunteer, whether with young people, vulnerable adults, the environment, or a myriad of other ways, your contributions to your community are appreciated now more than ever.”
