Storm Eunice updates: severe weather warning issued
A warning of severe weather by the Met Office has been upgraded to red from amber as winds of up to 70 mph are set to hit the district this morning (Friday).
A warning of severe weather by the Met Office has been upgraded to red from amber as winds of up to 70 mph are set to hit the district today (Friday).
There is the potential for significant disruption to transport and power supplies. Flying debris poses a risk to life, therefore residents are urged where possible to stay indoors.
Due to the extreme weather conditions:
- The council offices at Three Rivers House will close early at 12 noon today to visitors. However, our customer services continue to operate remotely as normal. Contact us here.
- Rickmansworth Golf Course is closed today.
- The recycling centre in Rickmansworth is closed today.
- There are no trade waste collections running today. They will resume on Monday.
- Routine grounds maintenance work has been stopped today.
All other services are currently running as normal, including Watersmeet, where this afternoon's show, Cartoon Circus, is going ahead as planned.
